Rachel Allen Senior Physiotherapist
Rachel Allen, senior physiotherapist at Mid West Physiotherapy, has a lifelong passion for sport and so completed a degree in Health and Exercise Science at Syracuse University, New York. This led her to Limerick where she then completed a Masters in Physiotherapy at University of Limerick. We were delighted to welcome her to our team in February 2020.
Rachel’s clinical interests include; sports injuries, musculosketal disorders (injuries, pain, joint problems) and post-surgical rehabilitation. She is also trained in vestibular rehabilitation, which is a specialised physiotherapy treatment which addresses dizziness and balance problems (such as vertigo). She also treats Parkinsons disease and creates falls prevention programmes for patients with decreased mobility or balance.
In her spare time, Rachel is an accomplished rugby player who has played with Munster since 2017 and was a member of the team that won the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship in 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2023. She plays club rugby with UL Bohemiens RFC. As well as playing sport, Rachel loves to coach and she completed a minor in coaching as part of her undergraduate degree.
