Danny Kelly, chartered physiotherapist at Mid West Physiotherapy, completed his physiotherapy degree in University College Dublin in 2017.

After graduating, Danny commenced his career working in a care of the elderly setting, attending a number of respite, residential and nursing homes in the Munster area. During this role Danny developed an appreciation for the importance of maintaining a person’s independence and physical function.

Danny moved to New Zealand at the end of 2018, working for over five years in a private practice and sports physiotherapy setting, treating a variety of musculoskeletal, orthopedic and sports injuries.

Danny’s areas of interest include; sports injury management, knee and shoulder injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and restoring independence after injury.

Danny has worked with a number of sports teams both at home and abroad, such as premier club rugby with Suburbs RFC and elite amateur youth football with Auckland City FC, along with Gaelic football and hurling.

During his free time Danny enjoys hiking, camping and getting out in the great outdoors. He enjoys playing sport and running to keep fit and has also previously assisted with coaching both Gaelic football and hurling with Auckland Celtic GFC.
