Rachel Allen, Senior Physiotherapist at Mid West Physiotherapy, has a lifelong passion for physical wellness and sport, and so completed a degree in Health and Exercise Science at Syracuse University, New York. This led her to Limerick where she then completed a Masters in Physiotherapy at University of Limerick. We were delighted to welcome her to our team in February 2020, where she has since progressed to the role of Senior Physiotherapist in our clinic.
Rachel’s clinical interests include; sports injuries, musculoskeletal disorders (injuries, pain, joint problems) and vestibular rehabilitation (dizziness, imbalance, vertigo). Rachel is a specialist in vestibular rehabilitation, and you can find out more about this service here.
In her spare time, Rachel is an avid and accomplished rugby player. She plays club rugby with UL Bohemiens RFC and was part of the team who won the Women’s All-Ireland League in 2018, 2024 and 2025. She was also a member of the Munster team that won the Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship in 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2023. As well as playing sport, Rachel loves to coach and she completed a minor in coaching as part of her undergraduate degree.
