Tom Fallon

Senior Physiotherapist

Tom is a Senior Physiotherapist at Mid West Physiotherapy, with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and pain.

In his career to date, has worked extensively across the NHS, private practice, elite sport and academic research, helping people from all walks of life recover from injury, reduce pain and return to the activities that matter most to them.

At Mid West Physiotherapy, Tom provides assessment and treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain, sports injuries, tendon problems, muscle and joint injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. He combines thorough clinical assessment with evidence-based treatment and clear, practical advice, ensuring that every patient understands their condition and has a personalised plan to support their recovery.

While Tom has worked with elite athletes throughout his career, he is equally passionate about helping people of all ages and activity levels achieve their goals. Whether you’re recovering from a sporting injury, returning to work after surgery, managing persistent pain or simply looking to move more comfortably and confidently, Tom believes everyone deserves the same high standard of care.

Tom has a particular interest in sports injuries and has worked with elite cyclists competing at the highest levels of international sport, including World Championships, European Championships, World Cups, and Olympic and Paralympic events.

Alongside his clinical work, he recently completed a PhD in Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast, where his research focused on preventing injuries and illness in competitive cycling. He continues to contribute to international research and has collaborated with organisations including Cycling Ireland, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the International Olympic Committee’s UK Collaborating Centre for Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport, and SailGP.

Tom is currently the lead on the UCI World Tour Injury Surveillance project, which is the first injury surveillance project across the top tier of professional cycling.
